INTEL replacing LGA1366 ?
Anyone who wants to upgrade or replace old PC this might be useful for ya.
Intel is about to replace LGA1366 socket with new one.
Good old 1336 introduced in 2008 goes to retirement after 3 year of service.
The new chipset should be called X68, and introducing more PCI-E lanes than X58
but there is no information if those lanes will be of the 2.0 or 3.0 type.
New platform is rumored to have four memory channels, evolving from triple channel
technology introduced with X58.
The new platform will most likely be released at the same time as Intel’s
upcoming processors featuring eight physical cores, capable of sixteen
threads thanks to Intel’s hyper threading technology.
